My husband and I were planning to build our dream home this past summer. However, material costs have gone through the roof recently.
New construction cost can cause be a real sticker shock to someone who hasn’t been paying attention. Between building demand (due to wild fires and hurricanes) and import regulations affecting international suppliers, some materials have climbed as much as 25%. Three of the six main materials have seen particularly adjustments — asphalt, iron/steel, and lumber.
In addition, our growing economy has motivated more people to build or buy a home. If you’re looking to build a home on a reasonable budget, you may need to wait several years or so. It may even be worth buying your next home now and building your final home many years down the road.
Here are a few articles supporting this:
I bought this domain a long time ago and have used it for many things over the years. Recently, I decided that having a “catch-all” website could help me juggle all the different things I’m doing. Sometimes Lions (yes, I’m a Lion) ask for videos or presentations I prepared. Other times, my church small group wants a calendar of events or my neighborhood wants a sign-up list for an upcoming garage sale.
So, what the heck. I’ve got this website that hasn’t been used since I sold my home as a fsbo. Why not use this now?
There’s probably nothing here of value to you unless you are interested in social media for non-profit, or you strangely enjoy useless information. But hey, I’m not judging!
